Background
PolPharma Biologics is a rapidly growing pharmaceutical organisation based in Poland and the Netherlands. With a relatively new leadership community of 110 leaders, the organisation needed to establish a set of Leadership Values and capability to support their current growth and for the future.
Approach
Facet5 was initially engaged to support leaders with a foundation level of self-awareness and to understand the role of leaders within the organisation, their strengths, challenges, risks and development.
Leaders were provided with a one-to-one Facet5 debrief and leadership aspiration conversation to understand how their style is contributing or detracting from their leadership. Values workshops were completed to agree a set of core leadership values and how they would take these into the organisation. Each leader also completed 360 feedback via an online process to understand how they are perceived and where they can focus their development.
A one-day Leadership Development Centre was designed to provide Leaders with an interactive programme of activities that allow them to demonstrate their true potential and to receive feedback from the observers and their peers. A focus of this LDC was to create cross department collaboration and build relationships beyond their areas of expertise.
Individuals receive a 1:1 feedback following the LDC which consolidates the observations from the centre, 360 data and their Facet5 profile. A multi-rater review ensures balance and objectivity. Leadership development plans are created and integrated into their ‘business as usual’ processes.
In addition to this, a range of capability uplift programmes have been designed to support building capability for less mature leaders. These programmes are assessed and adapted to the outcomes of the LDC. Internal capability uplift is underway to ensure this is sustainable and addresses the challenges of Leaders on the production floor through to the executive level.
Ideas developed as part of the LDC are now in planning for cross business implementation. The LDC has not only focused on personal growth, but by setting realistic activities the thinking is also being used to grow the business.
This is a live programme with 5 additional cohorts planned for the next year.
Participant Feedback
“The 1:1 conversation really helped me understand what it means for me to be a leader – and how I can lead others using my own style that also works for the organisation.”
